Utpal Borpujari’s fiction debut “Ishu” (Assamese), produced by Children’s Film Society, India (CFSI), won the National Award in 2018, the Special Jury Award at the 10th Bengaluru International Film Festival, and several major awards at the Assam State Film Awards. It was also screened in a number of international festivals. Borpujari has made several acclaimed documentaries, such as “Memories of a Forgotten War”, “Songs of the Blue Hills” and “Mayong: Myth/Reality”. Earlier, he had won the Swarna Kamal for the Best Film Critic at the 50th National Film Awards. A former journalist, he is an alumni of IIT-Roorkee.
